CHRIS CARR - Chris Carr says it's great to be back home! The best moments of his life have all happened in Minnesota. He married his wife, Stephanie, and his two sons were born right in St. Louis Park.
Six years ago, Chris was the afternoon drive on K102 until he moved to Cincinnati's WUBE-FM and eventually created Chris Carr & Co with co-host, Jeff "Maverick" Bolen. Now he's come back to K102 to be close to family again and says he will be picking up right where he left off six years ago. Maverick has returned to Minnesota with Chris to continue the Chris Carr & Co. success.
He plans to develop great relationships with his listeners, new and old. Chris will assist in waking listeners in the morning, giving them cool things to win and lend a hand for favorites charities wherever he can.
MAVERICK - Originally from Cincinnati, I started my radio life at Ohio University. I began to make connections with radio personalities until the doors opened for me to start my on air career. I joined the staff of WUBE and WYGY in Cincinnati, in 1994 and flew over the city doing airborne traffic reports until I was asked to be in studio with a new guy named Chris Carr, who was coming from Minneapolis to be the morning show host. That's when the market became alive again with his personality and a I began a six year run with the guy I now call my best friend. I know, "a little crazy", but he makes me laugh. The Chris Carr and Company show incorporated the audience as well as my wife Paula who, as she would say, was born in the country and doesn't make excuses for it. I have two in the family I call my inspiration. My adopted son Brad who now travels the world and a daughter who is still with her husband serving the country at Ft. Hood, Texas. Thank you for welcoming me to one of the best places in the world to be and for allowing me to call Minneapolis my new home.
KIA - Minnesota born and raised, I wear sun dresses, ripped jeans and always a pair of cowboy boots. I love camping, fishing, and country music. I don’t understand the separation between work and play.
K102 has been my home since 2009an intern, then Promotions Assistant, progressed to Promotions Director, and now am furthering my responsibilities as a DJ and Music Director.
I have an unshakable belief in a world that holds hope and happiness for everyone. I am described as having an infectious laugh, loving heart, and a generous spirit.
Family and friends keep me grounded- They are the inspiration for all my stories, they push me to be a better person and drive me to always try new things.
